Crandon Closed : MKB put a KITEBOAT for this weekend

Looking at the forecast for the days coming up, i know how ironic the situation is with the Sony Ericsson closure in Crandon park.
but after talking to the park officers, i can tell you and they won't let anybody even show up with Kite gear in their car.
by experience , from last years, i remember police officers in charge of kicking out kitesurfers trying to make it to Crandon beach during the tennis tournament.

So for all riders dying to go out and ride on the flats this weekend , we put our KITEBOAT pontoon available for taxi ride to Stilltsille and DOWNWINDERS. ALL THE WAY TO ELLIOT KEY , if you feel like it.

We provide air compressor, comfort onboard with shade, music, refreshements and power bars and obviously Captain licensed pilot.

Max capacity: 6 riders . 2 trips per day : 9.30 AM and 2.30 PM

call tomorrow friday , the boat get filled in quickly.
15 to 20 knots ENE forecasted for the weekend ( subject to changes )

Just curious...why do they close the beach for kiting for this? Parking? Lots of beach goers?

They've done it for years, nothing really new. Some years they let us slide while not in others. The island gets stupid crowded, traffic is a mess, parking too. All this to watch fuzzy balls bounce around, amazing!

they closed because they use all the parking lots for tennis spectators.
they only leave the lot #1 for beach users, which is very small and all swimmers go to the north beach , therefore they ask for no riding during 10 days.
we knew that from the begining.
and they are quite strict about it, they kick us out if we show up with gear right at the entrance.
too bad it is going to be nuclear in the next 3 days . Ironic !

The Kitehouse always offers water taxi and lessons to Stiltsville, twice a day (9am and 2pm), 7 days a week. All season long. Plus you should see our boats... Stiltsville in style!!! We never get closed down, and we know the place like the back of our hands.
