Default utah in clearwater

hello fellow wind riders
I am a advanced rider which will be on clearwater island saturday and sunday, on family buisness friday. I have been eyeballing your front that is coming in, looks marginal at 15 to 16mph for afternoon. I sure would love to kite with you riders that day. Should I bring my gear? I have until tommorow night to decide. My excpierence here is that Ikitesurf is a few mph under actual, especialy at a ocean beach. Question is will a 15m and a big board be enough with this forecast? I can stay up wind and I have a 15m SLE and a sweet crazy fly to travel with. Any suggestions would be apprecieated. I Live in snowkite country if I can ever recriprocate!!!!
Thanks Todd

Todd,

A big kite and big board will work fine here in 15 knots, as we have relatively little current in most spots. Plenty of guys ride in that area and most likely can hook up with you. It is possible we might even do a downwinder that day (around 12 miles), so keep in touch on here.
Your guess is as good as anyone's as to whether it will actually blow or not.
This time of year, it's 50 50 as to whether the front will bring wind (imo).

Hey Todd,

As Bob said, its 50/50, but depending on your weight you might bring a size smaller kite just in case. What if the forecasts are right and its pumping 20+ from the north? Don't want to be stuck on the beach with too big a kite. I think at this point were gonna get some wind, the big question is how much.

NWS Marine Forecast

SATURDAY
NORTH WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET. BAY AND
INLAND WATERS CHOPPY. SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MORNING.

SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY
NORTH WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 4
TO 6 FEET. BAY AND INLAND WATERS CHOPPY.

Did some snowkiting/snowboarding in Utah a few winters ago and had a blast. What beautiful country. Would definately go back!!!!!

thanks for the advice. I might really rethink and think about bringing my 11m as well. We have good kiting here, both water and snow. we are not on the coast though:neutral: I will look at things hard tonight, you know want to travel light.
