The sport has really come a long way from the 2-line "Wip-i-kill" kites and directional boards. The video brought back some memories. I started out with a 11.5m Wipika 2-line and a directional board and had some overpowered runs where you edged with all your strength or succombed to a screaming downwind run. Really scary stuff. I am glad the new kites are almost 100% depowerable.

Nice video thank you for posting. The days of large boards large bars and small kites, at least in Maui. It even has an old kite ski reel bar in use. What sort of equipment did people start kiting with out
there?
