Unfortunately, it is still a little too far off with the current forecast. It suggests that two fronts will pass into the area on Thurs. and Fri. So, I would think there is a little uncertainty.

The current NWS forecast, http://www.srh.noaa.gov/mfl/marine.php which will LIKELY change in the intervening days is:

THURSDAY
NORTHWEST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS BECOMING NORTH 15 TO
20 KNOTS IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET NEAR SHORE AND UP TO
4 TO 6 FEET IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE
CHOP. CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

THURSDAY NIGHT
NORTH WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET NEAR
SHORE AND UP TO 8 TO 10 FEET IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL
WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.

FRIDAY
NORTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS BECOMING 10 TO 15 KNOTS IN
THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET NEAR SHORE AND UP TO 8 TO 10 FEET
IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.

FRIDAY NIGHT
NORTH WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET NEAR
SHORE AND UP TO 6 TO 8 FEET IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL
WATERS A LIGHT CHOP.

SATURDAY
EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET NEAR SHORE
AND UP TO 4 TO 6 FEET IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.

If clear conditions prevail there is a good chance there could be some thermal augmentation of the forecast winds in the afternoon.

Keep your fingers crossed and pray for wind. It is still a way off, winds could go up or down.

That is Jeremy's call.

If you look back in history and our TYPICAL winds you may find your answer. Lots of events are run regardless of wind. Often 10 kt minimums apply for competition however. The first Jupiter Invasion had winds that were barely 10 to 15 kts. east. The first competition in South Florida at Crandon Park probably didn't have that much. The same applies to the first comp. in St. Pete. The list goes on and on. If you live in Florida it is a reality that we have to cope with.

I was skunked in Maui last year during the normal best wind month of the year. With weather dependent sports often you make due.
