An UNLIKELY New World Champion ?!
 Adventure Sports Miami’s Garry “the foot” Menk takes singles title!  Adventure Sports Miami, January 18th, 2007, The Menk takes the singles while Miami’s Capitan Kent and Ft. Lauderdale’s Cruising Chris dominate the doubles bracket!  A group of over 60 wind sports enthusiasts, including kiters and participants of this year’s Miami Olympic Classes Regatta showed up at Adventure Sports Miami to take a shot at the title. Twenty-two quick wristed foosballers battled it out in a double elimination foosball tournament for teams of two and singles.  In the end, Garry “the foot” Menk edged out Cabrinha’s Todd “the numbers guys” Greaux to take the singles title, while a late tourney team change for Marinkovic helped him and Ft. Lauderdale’s Chris Ferrell to win the doubles title.  You can see that many late night training secessions helped the ASI guys to place well in the top. “The foot” narrowly beat me in the semis, but I was hampered by a foot injury of my own and too many beers. Next time “the foot” better be prepared.” Marinkovic said.  According to Neilpryde manager, Garrett Scotti, “I felt pretty good and moved through some early rounds in the doubles, but there were just too many girls. I couldn’t concentrate”.  In all, everyone that came enjoyed great food, tons of fun, and plenty of “refreshments”. Those that missed this event won’t want to miss the next one. On the heels of this first ever tournament, Adventure Sports Miami is planning to host 1 tournament per month and plans to pit kitesurfers against windsurfers in future events.  Thursday, January 18th (that's right, this Thursday) Time: 6:30 - 9:30 Adventure Sports Miami invites all of you closet Foosball players out there to the shop this Thursday night.
