Exclamation some ideas

hello,
i was wondering if anybody wanted to give course racing a try. it wouldnt be that hard to set up. Also i thought ur of a great idea for a slider, if you wanted it to be portable everyone could put money in and buy a 12ft carolina skiff and we could flip it upside down, The bottems of the boats are completely flat.

then someone flips it back over and paddles away in it.......lol
the sad thing is you cant leave anything on the flat @ blue hill, or it will be gone before dark

Default I know where a bunch of pvc is

I'd be in to help to make the slider but not into transporting it in and out of the water.
my last kicker got used to make a play house on the beach for kids after the little pricks broke it up.

I've seen kayaks and canoes used as sliders too. Some of the PVC pipe sliders seem to be of pretty basic construction. You could save a lot over a Carolina Skiff fabricating a PVC and wood frame setup. Good luck.

Cool mabe mabe not

just another thing to lug to the beach.
I'm up for a stationary thing that is cheap enough that if the kids make it into another play house it dosn't cost that much.
the kicker I made was $300 in PVC pipe and the wood was free because I had it laying around.
we will need some 4/4 2by 4 and some long bolts.

Why no use an old windsurfer hull? I've seen the guys ar REAL kiteboarding use them in pictures. They would seem to be ok. a little narrow, but hey, all more for the excitement!

Anyway, sounds like you guys are having some sweet fun up there! I'd come up for a race or two, and a C kite to bring some old school back. 8)

Upside down ocean kayaks make for the best rails and kickers! They can take that abuse all day long!

I think we should take all the old wood from those Hatian Boats @ Yamacraw, and make them into a slider. The mast is already there, and you know its strong... Now getting it to Blue Hill will be intresting, but lots of free wood....

A bunch of plans for various sliders appear at:

If those Haitian smack masts are hefty and straight enough you could just take one and anchor it in the shallows away from navigation areas - Instant slider.
