Kiting Vacation October

I have about 10 days of vacation in October and would like to combine with kiting for at least a few days. My wife does not kite. Looking for a place to travel from Miami. I can handle a 12 hour flight or so.

Any recomendations for this time of year; kiting combined with other travel stuff to keep my wife entertained; she can't sit on the beach for 10 days straight
