Default The Ragnarok, an epic snowkite race in Norway among 200 riders

The Red Bull 2011 Ragnarok!
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Red-Bull-Ragnarok/

"Once again some of the best snowkiters met at Europe’s biggest mountain plateau in Norway for one of the hardest snowkite endurance competitions – Red Bull Ragnarok. A challenging 100-kilometere long natural track, a mass start with 200 participants (among others five-times kiteboarding world champion Aaron Hadlow) and fierce conditions once again highlighted the difficulty of this event."

High winds and blowing snow add to the race.

"Red Bull Ragnarok has now reached 200 registered participants and the start list is full! We are amazed by the interest for the event, but of course sad to disappoint the ones who still wanted to race across the Norwegian mountain plateau.

Participants from a staggering 24 nations are ready for the battle; the full list will be released at a later point. But we can already reveal that last years winner Bjørn Kaupang and 5 times World Champion Aaron Hadlow are confirmed, while Susi Mai will be hostess for the event."

The official Red Bull video trailer for the event with some excellent aerial views on the race:

"The snow conditions at Haugastøl are already superb, and the mighty Hardangervidda is ready to welcome the snowkite heroes of Red Bull Ragnarok 2011 from March 31st-April 2nd."

How many times have kiters rounded these bouys in Florida? This time the water is a bit stiffer.
