Arrow Photos - Jupiter Kiteboarding Invasion - 2008 !!!

The guys pulled this singular wave event off yet again, for the FIFTH year running! Special thanks to Jeremy, Neil and the army of volunteers, sponsors, spectators and COMPETITORS that make this such a great event!

Strong turnout

Friday had good winds for wave riding and going off. The wind eased on Saturday kicking an inpromptu standup surfing session that must have been epic. If anyone has shots of the action please put them up. The wind came back Sunday afternoon with nice swells and the kite loop-off went into gear.

Damian Leroy riding for Cabrinha wins the Invasion, yet again!

Alex of Airtime Kite Repair throws a big one. Click photo for full sized image

Gebi rides in

Judges in the bush, Neil of X-RATED KITEBOARDING, Todd of Adventure Sports/Cabrinha and Jeremy of Jupiter Kiteboarding confer

Sean moves out

Getting up there

The chicken loop broke, honest!

Jon Modica lobs one

Riding out

Sprinting back upwind during heats was often necessary. This guy was FAST.

Morgan rushes back up north to hit it again

Some guys ride, some sprint, it's all about position

Looping big

If you're too close to shore to jump, YOU'RE TOO CLOSE! Knee reconstruction isn't so bad, I guess (right). Click photo for full sized image.

Kiters in conjunction

Damian and Jon race upwind

Board Off?

Stay flexible!

Mike bouncing along on his one good leg, nursing his ankle. He showed it who was boss though during numerous powered kiteloop landings?!

Dave puts on the warpaint for some serious riding

Stay tuned, still more photos to crunch and put up, also quite a lot of video to put together on this great event.

If you can offer missing names or corrections please PM them to ricki. See you next year!

Thanks JP! I was using a Canon Rebel with a 28 to 70 mm zoom lens and the same Canon G9 that I was using in the plane on the way to "you know where." That write up is in the mill as we speak.
