Default Rob Douglas Has World Speed Record - 55.65 kts.

http://byadrienfreville.wordpress.com/

We're still waiting for confirmation but the word is Rob Douglas has won the Outright Speed Sailing World Record now at 55.65 knots, 64.08 mph and 103.17 kph.

Way to go Rob!

Also, new French and European record by Seb Cattelan (FR) With 55.49 kt.

New world record female by Charlotte Consorti (FR) With 50.43

and a bit more detail:

"28 Oct 2010 : EPIC THURSDAY – Records a plenty !

Seb is the new record holder of France and Europe with 55.49, he held the outright for 1 hour before Rob Douglas did 55.65.
Fabrice the time keeper has checked these speeds, but not the WSSRC yet.
Demands of speed records under sail, are subject to the official ratification by ISAF/WSSRC.

Alex is 3rd with 54.93

Charlotte Consorti did 48.5 on the display, followed 30 minutes later by Sophie with the same speed.
Charlotte went back out later and did 50.43. The first lady over 50 !!!
Sophie’s speed was 48.64; she could only do 3 runs has her hand was in agony as it’s broken.

So our speeds are: she: 50,43 and me: 48,64

Please see below a kind of article: BE CAREFULL, NOT RATIFIED BY WSSRC

The wind was 45 kts max, organization decides to close the run to keep the water as a reservoir because of the low tide. Very clever, records were smashed!

1st to 55 kts : Sébastien Cattelan, french competitor and organizer: New french and european record with 55,49 kts.
Rob Douglas better that afterwards with 55,65 kt.
incredible!
2 french girls were battle around 48 kts and Charlotte Consorti did 50,43 (Demands of speed records under sail, subject to the official ratification by ISAF/WSSRC), on her last run. Sophie Routaboul kept her 48,64 couldn t do nothing more with her hand she broke at the end of the 1st week of the event.

New south african record with Basil Cambanis : 50,75 kts (Demands of speed records under sail, subject to the official ratification by ISAF/WSSRC)

New Solvinian record of 46,60 kts for jernej Privsek

4th Seb Salerno had 54,28 kts FRA

5th Sylvain Hoceini had 52,90 kts FRA

Taro Niehaus had 50,59, Previous SA record holder at 50,60

Please send this news to all the media and don t forget to add as much as possible this sentence: Demands of speed records under sail, subject to the official ratification by ISAF/WSSRC.

Make a good news with those informations

Demands of speed records under sail, subject to the official ratification by ISAF/WSSRC.

let me know whjat do you think!!

kisses

sophie"
