Default ZERO WIND COMPETITION?

This was brought up last year but never came together. What would you think about a non-kite, kiteboard competition at the cable park? When we are in the throws of summer and all that typical calm wind, it might keep the wind lust a bay for a while. We could do it at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, FL. It could even move on to Orlando and Ft. Myers in time if interest warrants.

Who is up for this and who would be willing to help?

It sounds like fun, Rick. My money is on the little guy racing around the course right now. He's a ripper! Any reason to gather us all together is a good idea, and I am sure many would attend. Count me in for helping out with whatever is needed.

Rick,
On April 29 there is a Cable Board competition at Ski Rixen. Attending this event is free. (Free is good) The comp is open to all levels with different divisions. Entering the comp is $45.00. A get together of kite organizers at this event to observe and to throw ideas would be great.
An organization can rent out the Rixen is $280.00 for 2 hours on the weekend. Maybe a group like X-Rated (Neil) can come on board.

As I stated since last year, If there is anything I can do. PM me
Hopefully we can get some of our local shops with Broward and PB shops involved. If anybody else is reading this traffic, jump in.

Rick, You know Neil better. I do the folks at Ski Rixen. I'm sure the Best Guys are going to be there. Andy Hurdman won't miss this comp.

Talks are starting. It would be good to come up with something a bit different for the competition aside from the usual cable park events. Something that uses some kiteboarding skills, if that is even feasible. Still, what do you think. Any suggestions out there?

Before anybody says “Harness” I doubt the folks at Rixen will go for that. They do have kickers and sliders but how about the inflatables that they use in the boarder cross events. Everyone just rides unhooked?

Good point and I bet you are right. Hell, riders don't need no stinkn harnesses for time in a little cable park...? Neil is thinking about bringing a bunch of bananas. What other ideas to set this apart from a normal cable pullfest?

Guys,
I couldn’t make to Rixen yesterday. Wind was blowin 20 knots in Islamorada and I had to get some ride time. I hope people went and came up with some more ideas. If Neil sets up a course with bananas and it’s “Boardercross”. Would the addition of kickers and sliders make an event a “Supercross”?
