Default Anyone check Radar anymore?

Today was a great day. Windy, for sure.

But, right now it's gusting to 40 and the radar looks like total hell.
Also, visibility has been less than 1/2 mile for an hour.
Still, two guys just starting riding out at Blue Flag.
I have to wonder if they really didn't check radar prior to going out?
And if they did, does below look good? lmao

That's the last thing I check. I just want to make sure I am on the right knot.

Radar was very helpful yesterday. kept me from waiting on the beach for hours waiting for what looked like a thin line when I left the house to a monster mess as it hit the beach to pass thru. found the upper comfort limit on the 9 Nomad yesterday, came in put it down and grabbed the wind meter 37 to 42 gusts then 51.3 kts on the wind meter on the beach at honeymoon. Came home and checked ikite Clearwater to see how it compared to what we had been in, and sure enough there it was.

I still havent found the upper limit on the 7m Nomad, but granted FHP comp station showed gusts to 38 knots, 42 mph and not 50 knots. That 7 has some balls.

I too checked radar and went out for several hours on a 6m. I wouldn't advise rigging when radar looks like it did a 5pm.
A little surprised an instructor has a different take, but to each his own.

Default Radar

While I am not the best weatherman, I do check the Radar, so simple to do and can make a very big difference, can waist time or use it wisely, Kevin should have looked at it, instead of looking for turtles...IMO
