Shark Bite Challenge
Formerly the Caladesi Kayak Challenge

Location: South end of Honeymoon Island S.P.
Date: Saturday, April 19, 2008
Times: 8:30am registration, 9:45am mandatory
race meeting, 10:00am race begins
Fees: $20 until Mar 29th, $25 Mar 29-Race Day
Required: 1 personal flotation device per paddle
Online registration: www.active.com

The Shark Bite Challenge includes a 4-mile recreational and 8-mile competitive race for canoes, kayaks, outriggers, surfskis and paddleboards. The event is part of Island EarthDays 2008 with Friends at Honeymoon Island State Park. The Awards Ceremony for the race will be held at the Island EarthDays event."

"Shark Bite Challenge is here!

When: This Saturday, April 19th - Registration 8:30 am, Meeting 9:45 am, Race 10 am

Where: Honeymoon Island State Park, 1 Causeway Blvd., Dunedin, FL 34698
***Please note, the race is at the other side of the parking lot than previous years. Go through the gate, and tell the ranger you are paddling in the Shark Bite Challenge. Proceed through the gate and turn left at the "Main Beach". Go to the end of the drive and turn RIGHT. Follow the parking lot to the end. We will have tents set up, and there will be signs marking the way.

Couse Lengths: 4-mile recreational, 8 mile competitive

Cost: $25, includes t-shirt, a fabulous lunch of your choice at the Island Earth Days Festival, live music, and give-aways! All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Island Parks.
