Default Mobile Applications Developer - Weatherflow

http://support.windalert.com/job-mobile/

Us (WeatherFlow):
Know when/where it’s windy? We do! We operate the largest private marine weather network in North America and provide weather observations and forecasts to everyone from windsurfers to the Department of Defense. We are in need of a talented and innovative mobile app developer to create unique applications for our diverse clients. WeatherFlow supports a growing set of branded applications for Android, iPhone, Web and Desktop. We are a small team of dedicated programmers, engineers, and meteorologists and we seek a motivated developer whose work will see immediate impact on working products.

You:
We’re looking for a killer Mobile Developer that’s ready to influence the way people experience Weather – someone who isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of a platform and loves developing with users in mind. Are you versed in iPhone and Android platforms? Do you love coming up with new ideas? Skills can only take you so far here; so you’ll need to have a certain intangible spark about you that makes working with you both fun, and productive.

The Position:
  • Creation: You should have a thing for creating. After all, your number one objective will be to develop a clean codebase of Mobile Apps that utilize both native UI Components and custom stuff. Curiosity and creativity are encouraged here, and learning is a must.
  • Collaboration: We have a resident genius, a designer, meteorologist, a server administrator and one really quiet back end developer. In short, you’ll be translating ideas, paragraphs, bullet points and whiteboard doodles into rich, interactive experiences that are as beautiful as they are intuitive.
  • Organization: You’ll need to keep everyone informed and coordinate submissions with realistic and organized timelines.

Stuff you should probably know how to do:
  • Develop on iPhone, iPad, & Android – SDK’s
  • Fluently speak Objective-C and Cocoa / Java
  • Understand general API Integration (We have an awesome Weather API)
  • Knowledge and awareness of Mobile OS specifics and capabilities
  • Knowledge of device specific testing and debugging
  • Self-motivated and able to work well under minimal supervision
  • Bonus Skills: The ability to develop Mobile apps for, Blackberry and Windows Mobile
  • Experience with a wind related activity would be cool! But not required.

If this describes you, we want you on our team.

To Apply: Please email your resume, cover letter, and portfolio to: info@weatherflow.com
