Default HELP FOR A FRIEND!

Most of you that have read this forum has found out that a local kiter from Ft. Lauderdale, Chris, had a kite, wallet, and car keys stolen from the Kite 4 girls event on Sat. April 8th, 2006. All of us were hoping that this was not the case and someone had picked it up by accident. No one has come up with any information and we have had some people offering to donate some money. Being that we would like everyone to keep their spirits up about the kiting crowd and the events, I am here setting up a place for anyone and everyone who would like to make a donation to get Chris another kite, wether it be new or a used kite of the same make and model. Lets stand up and show what a great crowd we are! Donations could be as little as 5 cents up to any amount, I have already read some posts with donations for as much as 50.00! And remember, kharma, what goes around comes around!!!!!

Send donations to:

Chris Sommers
3625 North Andrews Ave
Oakland Park, Fl 33309

I will keep a running post as to how much comes in so as not to overcollect.

This was discussed between Rick Iossi, Neil Hutchinson, and myself, so any questions can be posted here or directed their way as well.

That completely sucks. I noticed his black Fuel kite bag was right next to my camera bag when i changed lens' right before the award ceremony. When i was done i went back to my camera bag just as Chris showed up and was looking for his kite. The girls at the table said they saw a youngg guy, maybe 19 years old, take it. We should post a discription and see if we can figure out who he is. The kite will probably turn up for sale on Ebay or to a local shop.

Can i donate some money thru my PayPal account?

Default Paypal if you choose...

Some people have asked about sending money through paypal.

If you choose this option, you can send donations to:

cbiandrea@aol.com

Thank you!

I have asked Neil his input on a limit as to how much to collect/how much his kite was worth so I do not OVER collect!

Thanks for everyones time and effort!

Default LETS FIND THE THIEF!!!

Anyone who saw anyone suspicious by Chris's kitebag and by the Xrated trailer, let us know! The price of that kite would lead to grand theft and the thief should be caught!

Good point WINDSTAR, and there are plenty of pics around to check out if anybody remembers something or someone. Does he have the #'s off of the kite?
I know that it was a 13m '05 fuel, but not sure of the colors. Maybe we should get a complete description(colors, any repairs?,etc.) and keep an eye out for it. If the guy is a kiter, he won't be able to resist riding it...

Default unfortunate

here is a little hint
all manufacturers have serial numbers in their kites....
How many of us actually write them down ?? and store it in a separate location ? mmm Also take a black marker and put your initials in a corner;
3 or 4 letters hidden can make a visual check on that brown and blue kite brand XX easy to verify.

Life sucks
Chris you can borrow my kites anytime !!

Default GREAT IDEA!

GREAT IDEA ABOUT THE SERIAL #S AND INITIALS! IF WE PASS THE WORD AROUND AND WE ALL DO THIS, IT WOULD STOP ALOT OF THIEFS! SOMEONE SHOULD TALK TO IKITESURF ABOUT NOT SELLING ANYTHING ON THEIR FORUM WITHOUT POSTING THE SERIAL #S!
