Default True insights into kiting ... or, the chocolate milk made me do it (LONGER no less).

A blast from the past from Helvetia

Ovaltine tells it how it really is(n't) in kiting. It is amusing but negative advertising all the same.
Have to say these folks are no strangers to controversial advertising, it goes WAY back, see below.

Translated caption
"The truism "Practice makes perfect" applies in kiteboarding. Good to
We know that is true, another wisdom, which says: "With Ovaltine
can you not be better. But longer. "

Some behind the scenes production photos of the work in progress. They take accurate trouncing of the wannabe seriously, well almost. From the Ovamaltine FB page, https://www.facebook.com/ovomaltine/photos_stream .

The tower of staged kite-calamity!

IF you're going get lofted, this is the way to do it with safety rigging, storyboards in place.

We all know sex sells but does it sell chocolate milk in this 1933 ad?!

I am not totally certain but I suspect the skier in a diaper and baby hat in the Swiss Alps is about to chug some of the magic beverage.
Hey, get that guy some ski clothes before something freezes off!

Ovomaltine at the start in 1904, before the days of defaming kiting

What is in this stuff, Valium? Something about this ad makes me think of the cult film classic "Reefer Madness."

I found this at the same link as the ad above this one. Misleading negative advertising on sexual forays by servicemen. You
would think running around at the front in your birthday suit without ammo would be safer. Maybe that was the point?

Very unSwiss-like I would say, promoting sexual orientation change through sucking down chocolate milk before turning in.

So, those are some of the hazards of chocolate moo-juice, buyer beware.

I just found some behind the scenes production photos from this bizarre kiting video and added them to the write up. The chocolate made me do it?

Facebook changed the link locations without forwarding future quires, annoying habit. Anyway, I just updated the links manually and decided to bring this curious footnote in Swiss-Kiting-Chocolate milk history to the top again.
