2011 - Invasion of Atlantis! - Adventure Sports Occupies Bimini
Well, not really, never bought into the "Bimini is Atlantis" theory anyway. It is something even better, it's the Pryde Group dealer meeting and a big one in the Biminis! "The Pryde Group is putting the final touches on our plans for the November water sports conference that we are hosting in Bimini for the best water sports retailers in North and South America. Nearly 50 dealers are attending representing 9 countries and 120 people! It's a huge task, but will be worth it in the future. Guest stars include Mr. Neil Pryde, Pete Cabrinha, Tyson Poor, Damien Leroy, and many more!" A nurse shark snoozes under the Atlantean Road. Home base for the retailers meeting. So, remnants of the lost continent of Atlantis or just some beach rock? Only your marine geo types know for sure. .

Running back through Bimini in recent and past times ...
North Bimini Beach and all that blue water. Looks rideable and still pretty flat & clear! Queens Highway over looking the Straits of Florida and westward toward Florida. 7 m weather in Bimini?! Looking for the Bimini Museum south over Kings Highway, the Customs House and Bimini Sound. Click photo for full sized image For extra points, who can tell me the name of that military looking building on North Bimini near the cut in this 1921 photo, when it was built, became disused, why and what happened to it? It is a real interesting story. A fuzzy look at the front of the building. A quick run down the back country of Bimini Sound to the south island. Weeches dock, used to stay there with the family boat a coons age ago. Somethings don't change much here. Kent and Gebi are the first to land on North Bimini Beach after racing across the Straits of Florida from Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 2005. See you from Bimini for now. .
