Default Kiteboarding in the first week of October

Hi guys,

I am looking to go on a kitesurfing trip on the first week of October. Since no one from my friends can make it I am considering going solo somewhere. Whats a good place to go for wind this time of year that is not too expensive. I know cabarete is not in a windy month and I briefly looked at hood river and found the same. Any thoughts, anyone interested in taking a trip???

The only places where I can think of near by that may have wind that exact time of year are ( in order of proximity )

1. FL if we get an early front
2. OBX or the eastern seaboard if they get an early front
3. Mex baja, specifically Rocky point or punta san carlos guaymas or punta SC proper

good luck!

As far as the OBX goes, are there any sites out there where you can look at wind history? I'll be travelling there soon and would like to see what kinda winds might be blowin' then.

Yes, ikitesurf.com has archive wind info although you might have to have a membership to see it.

Windfinder.com also has some archive info.

Looking at the windfinder info you might do better reviewing individual months on ikitesurf. They have a number of stations there as well.
