They need to put a happy face on the red orb. Ideal range made me chuckle. 5-15.

Okay, time to be a jerk.

If 3 to 25 knots is the range that you get the "green light" for sailing, do you really need a special program to let you know its a go?
Less than 3 is like dead calm.. nothing moving anywhere.. farts lingering, birds almost falling out of the sky, and more than 25 is frickin' windy, birds deciding not to fly.
They must have a really high tech sensor to determine those closely packed incremental "green light" ranges.
What were they thinking trying to compete with the always dead-on, ever-so-useful wind information available on Ikitesurf (and all the others too)?

Wait, I just read a little more about it. Seems the orb can be used for multiple information inputs and is an actual orb sitting right on your desk?

BRILLIANT. I need that at work (I will be back in a chair, somewhere, soon).
As the wind gets better, the ball heats up and starts to glow, so brightly that the WHOLE office can see it is windy as you attempt to either:
1) slowly and gently sneak out the back door or
2) Convince your boss that Wendy's combo #4 gave you food poisoning.

You may as well set your desk on fire with a letter attached that says "I am gone suckas... that's right FOOLS..I am kiting"

I don't use them either for the most part.

It's moderately ridiculous how bad our wind sensor situation is here considering how many riders we have. It doesn't matter much to me since I only live 4 minutes away from the SW and 7 minutes from the beach.
If I were travelling any distance I would have a much stronger dislike of Ikite. As is, I just laugh at the ad about saving people gas money, since in reality I see people showing up at the skyway all the time from Sarasota or Dunedin cuz the sensor says 17 when it's 7. Maybe it's dialed in this season. That'd be great for guys/gals driving a ways.

Oh well, the bad sensor situation has turned half of us into pretty decent amateur weathermen and also keeps us in touch on days the wind is blowing, either by phone or posts, so that's a positive outcome.

Chick fil A is my new fav. too. Wendy's did give me food poisoning once, and since Dave is thinking of selling out, I don't mind the "bad press" for them in the form of an excuse. You know the worst? Those 7-11 sandwiches. Man, playing with fire eatin' one of those, imo.
