Default Good day for Kiting tommorrow?

It looks like there maybe good/ok wind tommorrow afternoon/early evening? Just not in the ideal direction?

Does anyone out there know of a school in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area offering a supervised downwinder or an upwind lesson in the flats tommorrow?

If so, I may be able to get out early from work

I have done a few lessons from the KiteHouse in Key West, but need to learn how to do upwind and some more supervised riding time.

Thanks!,

Bob

Hello Bob,

Christophe at http://miamikiteboarding.com/ may be going to the Flats near Key Biscayne tomorrow. I would give him a call.

I hope the wind comes through!

Heres hoping tommorrow things will work out....

I am hoping, with a bit of prodding a number of guys will be running to the Miami Flats, (the area South of Key Biscayne) come this fall. It takes a bit more gas but it is worth it when the wind is on. Conditions can be very good there with useable wind from all directions and it is only about 100 sq. miles in area. Hopefully a lot of access hassles will fall by the wayside. Stay tuned ...

Would you need a boat to get to those flats?

This flat is nearby for me (between 195 & JF Kennedy Cswy)...

Does anyone know about this flat? I do not see much boat traffic go through this area (you can see the ground/growth when the tide is really low)...

Being between 2 land masses (Miami & Miami Beach), would this cause any anomolies in wind conditions?

If it looks good - anyone wanna go help me check it out? - I'll get the gas

Well Looks good so far today, I am going to hit commercial Beach after work. Still waiting on my 23.5 contra I ordered. Hopefully it will stay about 15mph so I can get out there on my 17 element. If anyone is headed to ft lauderdale beach say hi, I'll be the one with the big blue element.
