Kiting in the Keys
We're heading to the Keys down around Bahia Honda Next weekend. Does anyone know of any more easy access Kiting spots?
We'd appreciate any history. Thanks, Gene |

Bahia Honda is a good spot, works in SE-S-SW wind, entry fee
Annes Beach can be a good spot, , works in SE-S-SW wind Whale Harbor at Brad Langes 7's Shop..., works in SE-S-SW wind, property owner collects launch fee - please don't argue with them when asked Smathers Beach in Key West, , works in SE-S-SW wind Key West Flats...if you have a boat or want to pay Kitehosue for the water taxi, works in SW, W, NW, N, NE, E, SE, S (a little gusty) There may be a few other spots, bt in the Keys it's nice to have a boat. If you do have a boat or jetski be aware of the restricted areas. Big fines for messing up the eel grass and other habitat. Check with local info before you head out.

Quote:
At Bahia Honda be sure to park at the lot on the Up Keys side of the Park and walk up the shoreline in the same direction beyond the swimming area. Ride beyond the buoyed swim area. This is a rare spot that might be lost for some kiters ignoring these simple steps. If you use a boat in the Keys, your own or chartered/rented your riding area opens up to hundreds of square miles with few hassles.
