Nothing wrong with giving in if you save yourself or others some grief. Still, too many kiters approach our sport like driving a golf cart. Just press the gas and go, seamanship, rules of the road and other normally essential knowledge is optional and not worth bothering with?

Realizing that not a lot of kiters know this stuff much less practice it quite yet, I try to signal the direction I am going in when converging or crossing by arching an arm in the direction I am going. It works, most of the time.
