isn't the tampa race this weekend? i'm kind of wishing for light wind as I'll be out of the country through tuesday! the miami crew has to redeem themselves after missing the start last year.

Die wind... i actually love the tampa race, especially the bay side as there are decisions to be made during the race. i also like the gulf race because the conditions are actually far more difficult than the East coast events. It seems as though the shallow water makes for some nasty chop.
i'm in the worst shape of my life and was just in the warehouse "weighing in". When I saw 175 pop up, i have thought about trying to take it up to 190 for the heck of it! on the other thought, the nationals are coming up quickly, so i'm going to sneak down to 165 if i can. we just had a fun race in Miami last weekend and everyone had a great time we got off 3 reaching races with 2 laps. it ended up being very competitive and i think opened everyone's eyes to racing. we will try to get some SFLA riders up to Tampa again this time. With any luck, the car will make it all of the way. see you guys soon (if the wind doesn't co-operate this weekend!)

Keep in mind Kent, that if the race is run on a SW, the gulf presents much cleaner conditions. The chop only gets nasty when it is from the NW.
This just in from NWS FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY SOUTHWEST WINDS AROUND 10 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET. BAY AND INLAND WATERS A LIGHT CHOP. SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY NORTHWEST WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET. BAY AND INLAND WATERS CHOPPY. SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS. iKite is showing NW winds at 20+ Accuweather showing NW winds from 20 gusting to 36 Something is coming. |
