UGLY!? but real, amazing shark from the past

Here I thought this thing was a fake, guess not. What would you think if one of these guys wiggled up on you out of the dark on a night dive. Or, eased on into a confined space on a wreck you were checking out? Stranger things but that would be REAL strange. Note to self, put off diving off Japan a bit longer.

Has anyone seen this before? I came across it by accident last night. Here I thought remoras bothered me more than sharks. Well maybe except for this one. In fairness to this now departed, throwback a gazillion years or so, it may have been in failing health. This might explain the particularly strange and creepy way it had of swimming. Wonder if these guys will join the lionfish and invade the Western Caribbean anytime soon?!
